Good show. I hope FIFA will let the players on the pitch decide the games remaining in the tournament. The USA was the better team by far in their quarterfinal. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that the US WNT, and MNT routinely falls a foul of terrible calls by FIFA referees. Politics should have no place in football, but the US always has to beat the Refs and the other team. Brazil’s and Marta’s antics were disgraceful.

This US team may be a team of destiny. No matter what happens, triumphing over Brazil in the fashion they did makes the world cup for me.

    Thanks, Scott!

I was going to ask Stacy about the refereeing in the USA-Brazil game, but the power went out on me and I never got to.

I don’t know that the USA gets all the bad breaks, but it does seem that once one really bad call is made, it just goes downhill. I think referees should have their own coaching staff that pumps them up at half time and shouts directions when they start to lose the plot.
